Traditional Solid Shutters in Northamptonshire Posted on 19 Nov 11:35 , 0 comments

We recently installed Solid Shaker style shutters for a beautiful country property in Northamptonshire. Solid shaker style shutters are made up of solid wood panels with a flat insert and clean lines. The panels are manufactured from high quality hardwood: Paulownia. Paulownia is light in weight and highly durable and warp resistant.

Our client came to us looking for a suitable window dressing for their living room window, having recently moved to a period property in rural Northamptonshire. They were keen for a traditional look, in keeping with their period property and were drawn to the simple and clean aesthetic offered by solid panels. They were also looking for something low maintenance, and solid panels are generally easy to clean and maintain, requiring little more than occasional dusting or wiping. They also wanted something that could provide maximum privacy when closed, particularly if away travelling.

Solid panel shutters are generally considered more traditional in style compared to modern slatted options. Their classic design and premium hardwood material, gives them a timeless look that complements traditional architecture and interiors. However, solid panel shutters can also be adapted and designed in more contemporary styles, allowing them to fit various aesthetics.

While they have a strong association with traditional homes, they can be versatile enough to suit modern interiors as well. This is why we offer two styles of solid panel Shutters, Solid Shaker; seen to be more traditional and Solid Raised; seen to be more contemporary, with a raised insert and bevelled edges.

The clients chose a Dover White colour from our standard colour range for the panels and antique brass hinges and fixtures for a traditional and timeless finish. We think they look fantastic and as if they have always been there!
